Whether you're starting a commercial or industrial project from the ground up or renovating existing space, Santee Cooper and South Carolina are a winning combination for available property and incentives to develop an infrastructure for roadways, water, sewer, and electricity.
This program is administered by Santee Cooper Economic Development staff for the purpose of increasing available industrial product across the state. Loans are available to local governments and nonprofit economic development organizations in direct-serve and cooperative-served territories for land and building acquisition, infrastructure, spec building development and construction, and building demolition. These individual loans do not exceed 10 years or 60% of the project cost.
Grants for Technical/Marketing Assistance are administered by Santee Cooper Economic Development staff and is available to local government and public economic development entities. Grant funds are available for durable projects, such as computer hardware and software and presentation materials, as well as training, scholarships, labor studies, lead generation and advertising.
Grant Closing Funds for Electric Cooperatives are administered by the SC Power Team in consultation with Santee Cooper and are used to aid in the actual location or expansion of specific and identifiable industrial, commercial, and institutional enterprises. Funds in this category are matched by individual cooperatives.
Grants for Technical Assistance for Cooperatives are also administered by the SC Power Team in consultation with Santee Cooper and are available to cooperatives and economic development entities for technical assistance such as feasibility studies, environmental assessments and land use plans.
Grant Closing Funds assist direct and wholesale municipal customers served by Santee Cooper, either directly or through the Piedmont Municipal Power Agency (PMPA), in the recruitment and expansion of industrial, commercial and institutional enterprises for the state.
